State-level Thirukkural Elocution,Drawing & Essay Contests for School and College Students

Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam, the literary wing of Shriram group, one of India’s leading non-banking financial companies, is organizing Thirukkural Elocution, Drawing & Essay Contests 2026, the annual state-level competition from 18^thJuly to 30^th Aug. 2026, for School and College students across 12 centres covering Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. 

The Chennai zone competitions will be held at CSI Jessie Moses Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Anna Nagar on 29^thAugust 2026 and at Vels Vidyashram, Pallavaram on 30^th August 2026. The contest at other cities will be held as follows: Salem on 18^thJuly 2026, Vellore on 19^th July 2026, Thiruvarur on 25^th July. 2026, Puducherry on 26^th July. 2026,Erode on 1^st Aug. 2026, Coimbatore on 2^nd Aug. 2026, Tanjore on 8^th Aug. 2026, Trichy on 9^th Aug 2026, Madurai on 22^nd Aug. 2026, Nellai on 23^rdAug. 2026.

The contestants will be divided into 3 groups – Juniors (Classes: 6-8), Seniors (Classes: 9-12)and College (UG, PG, Engineering, Medical and Polytechnic students).

It is worth mentioning that Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam has been conducting this competition every year since 1988 with the view of enhancing awareness on the teachings of Thirukkural among the student community in the State.
